Insulated Containers
Insulated containers maintain a constant temperature to help protect temperature-sensitive materials during benchtop use, short- or long-term storage, or transport. Available in a variety of types, such as polyurethane boxes, chests, coolers, and mini-coolers, insulated containers can be used for enzymes, cells, reagents, and other solutions.
Specific applications include: protection from moderate and extreme ambient temperature exposure; short-term frozen or hot storage; and controlled rate freezing (approximately -1°C/minute) for cell preservation.

- Dewar bottles or flasks
- Freezing containers
- Ice buckets and pans
Insulated containers are usually used for cold items, although they can also be used with cold or hot items.
Grainger Food Pan Full Size 20 3/4 in Depth PK6
The Grainger Full Size Food Pan is made of stainless steel with a 20 gauge thickness. It measures 20.75" x 12.75" x 3.25" (L x W x D). This pan has a capacity of 4 gallons and features a reinforced rolled rim and embossed graduations. It can withstand temperatures from -20°F to 500°F. Cole-Parmer Transportable Dewar flask, 2 L
These silvered and evacuated Dewars feature rugged casings made of galvanized steel plate with a baked enamel finish. An insulated synthetic lid seals the vessel and locks for transport with two spring clips. Clips and a detachable bail-type handle included. Note: For dry ice and liquid nitrogen storage, drill a 2-mm hole in the lid.
Cole-Parmer Spherical Aluminum and Glass Dewar Flask, 1000 mL
Safely store and transport liquid nitrogen in these fully silvered and evacuated Dewars. Low liquid nitrogen evaporation—only 0.015 liter/hr on 5-liter vessel when covered. Low form shallow dewars permit essential operations that are not practical with standard cylindrical or spherical dewars including insertion of small flasks in dewar, agitation in flask with magnetic stirrer, rapid freezing and recovery of tissue/organ specimens, and tempering of stirring rods, pestles and other small objects. The protective aluminum bases extend the full height of the dewars. Note that protected vacuum tip-off tubulations are offset to the side to minimize space between the dewar bottoms and magnetic stirrers.

The Disposable Ovenable Pan Liner is a disposable liner designed to fit half-size steam table pans. It is made from FDA-approved materials and can withstand oven temperatures up to 425°F.
